Want to get a discount on your next Orca Running event? Want to just give back to a good cause? Want to hear an endless array of Porter’s dad jokes? Whatever your reason, consider joining us and volunteering at one of our races.
We always need volunteers for our races in the following positions:
You can sign up to volunteer for any of our races by visiting the event’s registration page and selecting the “Volunteer” tab. From there you can see the available roles and approximate time slots.
About a week before the race, you will hear from our Volunteer Coordinator with specific information on your race day job.
As a thank you, volunteers receive the following after completing their race day commitment:
Please note that all volunteer discounts are good for one year from the date of issue. Discounts cannot be combined with other discounts. Unused discounts cannot be rolled forward.
Volunteer No-Show Policy: We rely on our volunteers to help ensure race day runs safely and smoothly for participants, staff, and fellow volunteers. If a volunteer commits to a race-day shift and does not show up or notify Orca Running in advance, they will not be eligible to volunteer at future Orca Running events. A no-call/no-show can leave critical positions understaffed and place additional responsibilities on other volunteers and race staff. We appreciate your commitment and ask that you only sign up for shifts you are able to fulfill. If an unexpected emergency prevents you from attending, please contact us as soon as possible so we can make appropriate arrangements.
Are you coming to run the race and want to bring someone along? Get them signed up to volunteer for a shift — it must be at least 2 hours — and we will refund 50% of your race entry.
To take advantage of the Runner Refund, email Leah at leah@orcarunning.com once the volunteer has signed up. Your entry fee will be refunded after your volunteer completes their race day commitment.
The volunteer does not also receive a 50% discount on a future event. Either you receive a 50% refund, or the volunteer can receive a 50% discount on a future event.
Thank you!
