About the race

The most basic race you have ever attended.

This race is perfect for the runner who believes all seasons should be pumpkin season. Frolic through the leaves of scenic Seward Park, with a pumpkin spice twist. Choose from the 1 mile pumpkin speed dash, the 5K or the 10K, and we will also have a Kid’s Race for our littlest pumpkins.

Need some extra spice? Pick a pumpkin from our Orca Pumpkin Patch and run with it! Finish to a festive fall finish line celebration and a fresh Pumpkin Spice Latte or other fall drink, included with your registration. This will be the most basic race you have ever attended, and we can’t wait!

New for 2026: a big pumpkin festival runs during the event, with games, face painting and more. We are also adding a .25 mile stroller dash, and a shirt is now included with your race entry for the 10K, 5K and 1 Mile.

Pumpkin Spice Run

The Course

Run the route

A short dash for our littlest pumpkins.

.25 miles to find the fastest baby. Don’t forget to decorate your stroller!

How fast can you run a mile with your pumpkin!?

A beautiful scenic fall loop through Seward Park. You will warm up with a hill into the park and frolic through the forest, full of fall foliage and crunching leaves, then head back along the dreamy lake on flat, paved path.

Two beautiful scenic fall loops through Seward Park — the 5K course, run twice. Each loop climbs the hill into the forest and returns along the flat, paved path beside Lake Washington.

All Orca races are cupless — bring a handheld or grab a small reusable folding cup at the start.

This race takes place on the ancestral lands of the following peoples: Duwamish (dxʷdəwʔabš), Suquamish (dxʷsəqʷəb).

Parking

Carpooling is highly recommended. The 5K is one scenic fall loop — you warm up with a hill into the park, frolic through the forest and the fallen leaves, then head back along the lake on flat, paved path. The 10K is that same loop run twice. The 1 Mile Pumpkin Speed Dash, the .25 mile Stroller Dash and the Kid's Dash are all shorter courses in the park.
What are the awards?
Overall awards go to the top 3 men, women and non-binary runners, scored on gun time rather than chip time. Age group awards are given in 5-year increments. Awards must be picked up at the race — they are not mailed afterwards.

Is there a youth or senior discount?
Yes. Participants 22 and under or 65 and over receive 15% off their registration fee.
Is there anything to do besides run?
