About the race
Flat and fast — you won't want to miss this one.
Well-organized, professional, personable, safe and fun: it’s what makes Orca Running races so well known. Our newest race is no different! Join us on March 14th for the 4th annual Run the Green.
The half marathon and 10K are out-and-backs on the Green River Trail, and along the way you’ll enjoy scenery of the river and the golf course. Flat and fast — you won’t want to miss this race.
All participants receive a bib, a commemorative participant shirt, a finisher medal, free photo downloads and post-race snacks.

The Course
An out-and-back that follows the Green River on the Green River Trail. There is a small loop at the halfway mark where participants turn around. Flat, fast and scenic, with views of the river and the golf course.
Aid stations every 2–3 miles, stocked with GU gels and Tailwind Endurance Fuel.
An out-and-back using the same Green River Trail course as the half marathon. The turnaround is just past the first aid station at mile 3.1.
All Orca races are cupless — bring a handheld or grab a small reusable folding cup at the start.
Entry
Bib mailed to you ($4.25) — Select the option during registration
Race morning, 7:30am – 8:45am
Aid stations are located every 2–3 miles and are stocked with GU gels and Tailwind Endurance Fuel. Orca Running is committed to reducing waste and protecting the environment, so all of our events are cupless — please plan to carry your own handheld or collapsible cup.
Free gear check is available at the start/finish line, in the covered area. In an effort to reduce waste we do not provide drop bags, so please bring your own bag.
Overall awards go to the top 3 male, female and non-binary runners based on gun time rather than chip time, so start near the front. We also give out age group awards in 5-year increments. Awards are not mailed after the race and must be picked up on the day.
The course closes at 12:30 PM for all participants
Carpool! We really encourage you to carpool. There is no parking at Three Friends Fishing Hole Park itself, but parking is available at Columbia Distributing and at Surface Art, Inc.
A parking map is linked from the race page and shows the parking areas in red and the walking paths that lead to the start/finish line in yellow.
Run the Green is located close to SeaTac, where there are literally dozens of hotels to choose from.
