About the race

Run through Little Norway.

The Poulsbo Half Marathon and 10K are beautiful courses that run through “Little Norway”. They have chip timing, participant t-shirts and finisher medals, and all participants also receive free photo downloads.

Both courses start and finish at Liberty Bay Waterfront Park and run through downtown Poulsbo.

The Course

Run the route

We will be using the loop half marathon course from 2025!  It starts and finishes at Liberty Bay Waterfront Park and running through downtown Poulsbo. It is challenging, but it has a ton of variety.

Please note that while the courses will be appropriately monitored and traffic controlled, they are not a closed courses, so please be aware of your surroundings at all times. We also recommend that you not wear headphones.

A shorter tour of “Little Norway”, starting and finishing at Liberty Bay Waterfront Park alongside the half marathon.

All Orca races are cupless — bring a handheld or grab a small reusable folding cup at the start.

Aid stations

Aid stations will be every 2–3 miles and will provide water, Tailwind electrolyte and GU gels.

Gear check

We offer gear check, but you'll need to provide your own bag. We'll keep your stuff dry for you while you run. Please note that Orca Running is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Awards

Overall awards will be given to the top 3 male, female and non-binary runners based off of gun time, not chip time, so start near the front. We also give out age group awards in 5-year increments. We do not mail out awards after the race — they must be picked up at the race.

Time limit

4 hours — all courses close at 12:00pm

Parking

We highly recommend carpooling! There are several options for parking near Liberty Bay Waterfront Park. No event parking is allowed at the start and finish line area, so please plan on parking in one of the nearby lots.

Lodging

There are two hotels very close to the start/finish line: Guest House Poulsbo and the Poulsbo Inn & Suites.

What distances are offered?
Two distances: the half marathon and the 10K.
Where does the race take place?
Poulsbo, WA, at Liberty Bay Waterfront Park. Both courses start and finish there and run through downtown Poulsbo.
How can I confirm that I am signed up?
The best thing to check first is your email inbox, for a confirmation email from RunSignUp for the race in question. You can also look up your registration in your RunSignUp account — log in, go to your Profile page, and view your current registrations under Upcoming Events.
How can I confirm what shirt size I ordered?
The t-shirt size you selected appears on your confirmation email. If you did not receive your confirmation email, try checking your spam folder.
I cannot participate! What are my options?
Please see our refund and transfer policy on the policies page. Entries are non-refundable, but you can defer, transfer to another race, or transfer your entry to another participant.
I cannot participate, but I would still like to pick up my swag. Can I pick it up?
Yes. You can send a friend or family member to packet pickup to get your race packet and swag.
Are walkers welcome?
Absolutely yes!
Are dogs welcome?
No, dogs are not allowed to participate in the Poulsbo Half. They are welcome at the start and finish line areas, however.
Are strollers welcome?
No. Strollers are not allowed at the Poulsbo Half or the 10K.
What time does the course close?
The course closes at 12:00pm.
Will there be porta-potties at the start/finish? What about out on the course?
There will be porta-potties available at the start line and the finish line area. There will also be porta-potties out on the course at several areas.
When does online registration close?
Online registration will close at 8:00pm the day before the race.
What/who does this race benefit?
The Poulsbo Half and 10K benefit Girls on the Run Westsound, which inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
Can someone else pick up my packet?
Yes! You do not need anything special to have someone else pick up your packet — just be sure to coordinate with them.
Can I sign up in person at packet pickup or on race day?
If the race has not sold out, yes — come find us at packet pick-up or at the start line on race morning.
